Lyons first analyzed a BYU football game September 6, 1980 while working alongside the late legendary broadcaster Paul James.The Cougars, who come into this game at 5-5, need a win to secure bowl eligibility and have given freshmen a golden opportunity to contribute to their cause.BYU has played 27 freshmen this season, including 17 true freshmen.
